I am so behind the schedule! I’m still working on the location survey with a few buildings left to measure. This is where I am so far. Once again, I still have to measure the depth since I have no measurements for those within the whole street. So, the plan is quite ambitious – go there in the morning and measure 5 buildings I have left out and go back there in the evening and do the whole thing with the depth.
The other thing that was pointed out for me a day ago when I was measuring was the signage, the graphics. There was that guy who is an antique dealler and he told me how he was trying to work out the same style of the signs for the whole street and when I said that I’m gonna make the model out of it and transform the whole street into New Orleans in 1920’s his responce was that he hoped that the signs will not be changed. Well, they do look good. I really need to check up on that cuz some of them will definitelly not work and I do need to think more about the actual shots and I tried to do a little try-cuts (well, I’m definitelly not a camera-person). I also made some pictures of the street and I found that looking in the other direction would work as well and the lights create an amazing lay out. I would still love to add some more but I like the line they create.
The actual question is why would I use that camera angle? I need to think that through because I do want to use that camera angle, adding some more options for the action to take place. I need to do some more research on that and have more references.
So, yeah, those are the signs! I really need to do more on the matter. And I was thinking about actually going there inside those shops (not all of them, there would be no point) and try to take pictures/measure up the floorsplans at least so I could have some measurement for the set dressing, but I don’t know. For now it is just an idea and I will only do that if I have some spare time. And again, about the signs – I really don’t want to change those that much but I’ve noticed that a lot of the signs say “portobello road” – that might be a problem….
So, some more quick photo observations…
